The Music

Our sound is a mixture of folk, bluegrass, rock and blues which a friend once referred to as "freight-train-folk-a-billy-bad-luck blues". We play mostly originals but mix up the sets with our own adaptations of traditionals and covers. Some of the artists we frequently cover are: Townes Van Zandt; Bob Dylan; The Rolling Stones, Woody Guthrie and Johnny Cash.

Some press clippings....

"Get out grandpappy's moonshine, put your feet up on the junked pickup growing weeds and relax to Blonde Boy Grunt, grass-roots hillbilly rock at its finest. Quite simply, it doesn't get any more American than this ( and that's a compliment, by the way.)"

-- David Powers, (Cleveland) Scene, April, 1998

"How can a group of four guys exude so much energy, and how can we bottle up some of that energy and save it for a much-needed rainy day? 'All Folked Up' is a fun disc to give a listen to - or better yet, to get down at a hoedown to."

-- Tune Magazine (Erie, PA), July, 1998

"The surprise of the year comes from this Canton band whose Dylanesque rambling and hopped-up acoustic folk background is a pure delight. Songs like You Rock, with lead singer Mike Good's rollicking harmonica solos and wild-eyed delivery, and Many Times make the band one to watch."

-- Glenn Gamboa, Akron Beacon Journal, Dec. 1998
